What to Expect When Booking A Boudoir Shoot

Booking a boudoir session can be very intimidating, especially if you don’t know what to expect. To put your mind at ease I want to walk you through a full experience from start to finish so you know exactly what to expect when it’s your turn!

Consultation:

The experience starts once we set up your phone consultation. We want this journey to be the best it can possibly be so before you book I will walk you through the experience and answer any questions you might have. This is also when you select the date for your shoot. We generally book 3-6 months in advance, so plan ahead. If you are just finding us and need your shoot asap you can always send me an email. We try our best to fit everyone in and you may be in luck!

Pre-Shoot:

Once you’re all set you will receive access to your personal portal, which will have all the information for your upcoming shoot. I will be sending you an outfit guide, which contains client favorite outfits and a prep guide, which goes over everything you need to know before the shoot. The prep guide also includes a checklist you can use as you’re getting ready. If you have any questions regarding outfits or the shoot itself you can text me at any time. To get to know you better I will be sending you a pre-shoot questionnaire, which will help me customize the experience for you.

In the weeks and days before the shoot I will be checking in with you to make sure you’re all set for the shoot.

On the day of the shoot:

The day starts with a beauty makeover here at my home studio. My hair and make up artist comes right on site and does your hair and make up here. Hair and make up takes about an 1.5 hours. While you’re in hair and make up we will go through your wardrobe and talk about the outfits that we are going to shoot. We generally shoot around 5 outfits but I always recommend bringing more than that so we have multiple outfits to choose from.

After you’re done with hair and make up, we start the shoot. We shoot for about 1.5 hours and I tell you everything to do from the angles of your head all the way to your feet and I do most of the poses first before you so you can see what I do.

After we’re done shooting we pick a date for you to come back for your ordering appointment, which is 1 to 2 weeks following the shoot and you make your purchasing decisions then. The good thing about that is that that it gives me time to edit all your images so you get to see a finished product before you make any purchasing decisions.

Ordering appointment:

On the day of your ordering appointment we will watch a slideshow with your beautiful images. After that we will go through all the fully edited images and you will be selecting the ones you like. Additionally, you will get to choose your luxury photo albums with velvet, leather or acrylic cover as well as any wall art or prints.

Albums and wall art will be delivered within 3-5 weeks.
